The Google Pixel C was a tablet computer developed and marketed by Google. It was announced in September 2015 and released in December 08, 2015. The Pixel C was unique in that it was part of Google’s Pixel brand, which is primarily associated with premium devices known for their high-quality hardware and stock Android experience.

Key features of the Google Pixel C included:

  • Design and Build: The Pixel C featured a premium design with an aluminum body, giving it a sleek and modern appearance.
  • Display: The tablet had a 10.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1800 pixels, resulting in a high pixel density and sharp visuals.
  • Performance: It was powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra X1 processor and 3 GB of RAM, providing solid performance for various tasks, including gaming and productivity.
  • Keyboard Attachment: One of the unique features of the Pixel C was its detachable keyboard accessory, which allowed it to function as a laptop-like device. The keyboard connected to the tablet magnetically and could be adjusted to different viewing angles.
  • Software: The Pixel C initially ran on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and received updates to subsequent Android versions. The device offered a pure Android experience, free from manufacturer-specific customizations.
  • USB Type-C: The Pixel C was one of the early devices to adopt the USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, which offered faster data transfer speeds and reversible plug orientation.

Despite its premium design and features, the Pixel C didn’t gain as much popularity as Google might have hoped. It faced competition from other tablet manufacturers and 2-in-1 devices, and the market for Android tablets wasn’t as strong as that for smartphones. As a result, Google eventually discontinued the Pixel C, and it was no longer available for purchase after a few years on the market.
